Acupuncture
Fairwood Chiropractic has an excellent acupuncturist on staff to assist with patients’ treatment goals. Whether used alone or in conjunction with other techniques, acupuncture offers tremendous potential for alleviating pain and restoring the body to wholeness, avoiding the need for surgery or pharmaceutical pain-killers.

What is acupuncture?
Acupuncture originated in China, where it has been practiced for thousands of years. The practice has been acknowledged by contemporary medicine as an effective way to treat pain and other maladies. The underlying theory is that energy moves throughout the body along meridians, and a blockage of those meridians lead to pain, illness, dysfunction, and fatigue. Using extremely thin, sterile needles at key points on the body, the acupuncturist releases blocked energy, allowing it to flow freely again. The needles used are thin enough that there is often little or no pain with insertion. For further information about acupuncture and its license in Washington, see this page.
